Our Christmas Concert on 2nd December this year was hosted by St Mary Magdalen Church, Waltham on the Wolds.
A capacity audience gave a warm response to the seasonal programme of carols and other songs from around the world. New pieces included Nu Tandas Tusen; a sweet carol from Sweden, Beyond the Sea; a bit of 60s swing, and the rollicking folk number, Coal Black Smith, which brought the house down. Peter Wilson, one of our favourite groupies, declared it the best concert yet.
Your correspondent thoroughly enjoyed the evening, it was a an invigorating sing, the audience were great and the interval refreshments absolutely delicious.
Libby, from Waltham sent this message to Liz; “THANK YOU......."Not only for their talent but their contribution to the huge amount of ticket sales. Thank you all for the best of best concerts. It was such fun to organise. Amazing, I had never expected such an absolutely splendid evening. You're all wonderful people!"
We were bowled over to hear that the evening had raised an amazing £1,805 which will be divided between the church and charities including Parkinson’s.
Thanks as always to our wonderful leader Liz and to Libby and the team at Waltham.
